Welcome to NerdyExplorer.com
I’ve always had a dream to travel more but it has not been so much traveling as I had hoped for in the past. In this blog I will share my experiences, tips and tricks, not only for nerds but from an nerds point of view.
But what I can tell about myself? I am a Norwegian nerd in his late twenties who swear by technology in all aspects of life. Possibilities that we have today can not be compared to the past. And that’s why i’m so passionate about technology.
One of the things I want to achieve with this blog is to show how we can use technology to plan and survive a journey.
Where are you going this year?
I will be traveling to Japan in summer 2015 and I am really excited to experience a culture that is very different from my own. Tokyo is also nerd mecca for anime and technology. So I should take with me at least possible in my suitcase so I can buy a lot of things when I’m down there 🙂 Picture down below is from Akihabara in Tokyo.
I also have a great interest in wrestling. It’s a big part of my life and I have visited England a few times to watch wwe Raw and Smackdown. In November, I visited Liverpool in two days to sit ringside on Raw. It was absolutely amazing and I hope it will not be long until the next time I have the chance. Since WWE just visiting Europe twice a year it’s extra exciting.
My plan was to go to London in April to see Raw. But I have put that plan on hold because I have to save money for my Japan trip. The good news is that wwe happens to be in Tokyo the same time I’m down there. So i get to experience a wwe live event july 3rd or 4Th.
I need to get out of my comfort zone
Since I’m a nerd, I like to be home. Certainly in front of my computer or couch. I am a couch potato who need to get more out. I am fully aware of it and hope that this blog can get me started to travel more. One of my New Year’s resolutions was to spend more money on experiences instead of gadgets and other technology. Do not misunderstand me, I am VERY fond of technology. But I have now come to a point in my life where I want to experience more than sitting on google street view or to see hours of videos of people traveling on youtube.
I hope you will be with me on this journey.
Thanks for reading 🙂
